Dr. Saloum specializes in general gastroenterology, hepatology, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The disorders he treats include, but are not limited to, acid reflux (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, autoimmune and viral hepatitis. Dr. Saloum also provides convenient appointments for cancer screenings and general gastroenterology consultative services. Dr. Saloum is passionate about providing the highest level of care to his patients and is now accepting new patient appointments
History
Dr. Yasser Saloum is double-board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and has been practicing medicine in the Tampa Bay area for over a decade. After earning his medical degree from the Damascus University School of Medicine, Dr. Saloum completed his internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s Hospital and St. Louis Regional Medical Center, part of the University of Missouri-Columbia Health Sciences Center, in St. Louis, Missouri. He then completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining Florida Hospital Tampa Dr. Saloum was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of South Florida for eight years and Chief of the Gastroenterology Section at Tampa General Hospital for four years.
